The new marina of Didim Altinkum is under construction and should be ready for the summer of 2009.

The new marina has a 1225 yachts capacity 625 at sea and 600 in dry docks. It will serve mainly yachts of 75-150 meters long such as mega yachts, which are increasingly popular on the Aegean and east Mediterranean seaboard. In addiction to this it will have a shopping center, supermarket, swimming pools, a fitness center, sport facilities, yacht club, ferry boats and a heliport.

The marina will also crucially have ferryboat management for cruises to the Greek Islands of Kalimnos, Kos, and Leros, as well as customs, port authority facilities and a passport control unit.

The 52-million dolar project will be the key to providing a twelve-month tourist economy for Altinkum and the rest of the resort.

Yachtsmen will be keen to use the marina as it is on the Cesme, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Datca and  Marmaris routes, while ferry boats from the Greek Islands of Kos, Samos, Kalimnos, Leros and Patmos would be an added draw. 

Dogus Group, one of the Turkey’s leading construction companies, is building Didim D-Marina on a build operator-transfer for 25 years, ensuring a smooth hand-over/running of this new facility.
